Ayer Receives Economic Development Seed Grant from NCMDC
The Town of Ayer is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant award of $8000 from the North Central Massachusetts Development Corporation. This grant is for the Depot Square Transportation Study in support of a public-private partnership between the Town and the Depot Square property owner to conduct acess, circulation, urban design, and other studies related to the support of commuter rail service in Downtown Ayer, a vibrant traditional town center. Ayer is grateful to the NCMDC for its generosity and is excited about this important project.
Patrick Administration Announces New Solar Power Initiative
The Governor's office announced the Commonwealth Solar initiative, a program developed with the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative. You can find more information about this program, which is aimed at both businesses and residences, at the program's website.
Industrial Development Finance Authority (IDFA)
The Ayer Industrial Development Financing Authority (IDFA) promotes a healthy local economy and strong employment levels through the creation, retention and expansion of industrial and commercial businesses in Ayer. To achieve these goals the IDFA oversees a $1.5 million revolving fund primarily utilized for gap financing to assist business development in the community. The IDFA also finances worthy community-based projects that create or retain jobs and invests in needed infrastructure improvements to strengthen local business districts. The Economic Development Division of the Department of Planning & Development administers a number of loan, grant, and other incentive programs designed to support existing businesses need for expansion, to attract new business, and to improve the overall business climate in Ayer.
