What's New
Home Energy Assistance Programs
The Problem: Citizens are increasingly worried about the upcoming winter. Unless there is state action beyond the $10 million appropriated so far, agencies administering fuel assistance will have less than half as much money this year as last while heating bills will as much as double.
How We Can Help: The winter season is fast approaching, and with heating costs soaring, the Board of Selectmen is concerned about the health and well-being of the citizens of Ayer. We have put together the following resource sheet that lists agencies and services that are available to help you, ranging from free energy audits to reduced-fee (or free) oil to public service agencies like Loaves and Fishes. We have also developed some basic (and either inexpensive or free) steps you can take to get the most from your heating system; you’ll also find information on rebates as well as taking advantage of an oil co-operative.
Please check this website for updated and/or new information (if needed, this website can be accessed using the computers at the Ayer Town Library located at 26 East Main Street; 978.772.8250).
