Camp Pete
The eighth annual Camp Pete was held in August, part of this department's Student Awareness of Fire Safety (S.A.F.E.) program that continually provides safety education to our school children and younger citizens took place in August. Sincere thanks to North Middlesex Savings Bank C.E.O. William Marshall, Brenda Dietzel and staff for their continuing support of this program. Thanks also to Superintendent Lore A. Nielson, Page/Hilltop Principal Robert Ackerman and staff, Health teacher Shari Matthews, Sarah Gibbons and Ted Januskiewicz and the custodial staff for their full support of the S.A.F.E. program. Additional thanks goes to McDonald's for providing Happy Meals to our Camp Pete campers.
S.A.F.E. provides age-appropriate education beginning with kindergartners through fifth graders. Subject matter includes the dangers of cigarettes and other smoking related materials, using the telephone for 9-1-1 emergencies, fire hazards in the home, ice safety, railroad safety and bicycle safety.
