The town beach opened Saturday, May 23 2009, for the Memorial Day holiday weekend and will continue to open on weekends leading up to June 15, when the beach will be open daily until Labor Day. The hours when lifeguards are on duty for public swimming are 12:00-7:00. All lifeguards are Red Cross certified. There is no swimming at the town beach when lifeguards are not on duty.

Swimming lessons
Swim lessons at Sandy Pond Beach begin July 6th 2009 with Red Cross certified swim instructors. Levels go from 1-6 with level 1 for those who are age 4 and up and are beginners with very little swimming experience.
