The Town of Ayer is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Tax Collector. This position will provide professional administrative, skilled clerical and record keeping support including, but not limited to: collection of all taxes, balancing daily receipts, making bank deposits, keeping accurate bookkeeping records, assisting with processing of Municipal Lien Certificates, when necessary assist Town Clerk’s office with answering phones and having general knowledge of Town Clerk information to assist public, assists Tax Collector in all duties of the office. Successful candidate will have knowledge of office procedures; ability to deal with the public in a courteous manner, critical attention to detail, computer knowledge of all components of MS Office, familiarity with MUNIS is ideal.

The position is fulltime 40 hour per week. Hourly rate is $21.94 and benefitted. Position is covered under the AFSCME 93 Town Hall/Clerical Union.
Must be able to successfully pass a CORI and the ability to be bonded.
