Pleasant Street Reconstruction Project

The Ayer Department of Public Works, in partnership with the Ayer Office of Community and Economic Development, is reconstructing Pleasant Street from the intersection of Main Street to approximately 200 feet north of Groton Street as part of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The reconstruction consists of water, sewer, drainage, street, and sidewalk improvements.

The project will begin with rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer main from Groton Street to Main Street. Work is anticipated to start on Wednesday July 20, 2016 and will generally be conducted between 7:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M.

Road closures will vary as the sewer rehabilitation crew progresses and will include:

  • Groton Street to Cambridge Street
  • Cambridge Street to Main Street
  • Intersection of Groton Street and Pleasant Street
  • Intersection of Cambridge Street and Pleasant Street

On-street parking will not be allowed during construction. Local access will be allowed. Detours will be setup as necessary and detail officers will be onsite to direct traffic.

Traffic control and parking restrictions will change as the project progresses and future notifications will be distributed.

We will be posting construction updates at regular periods on the Town website (ayer.ma.us), at Town Hall, and sending out email updates. To sign up for email alerts go to www.ayer.ma.us/subscribe
