The Town of Ayer web site provides an RSS feed for it’s meetings and announcements page. Visitors can subscribe to the RSS feed using software that "browses" RSS feeds - similar to the way you use a web browser to view web sites.
What is RSS and how can I use it?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a technology that allows content to be easily syndicated and aggregated.
What does that mean? Well, you probably have a certain set of web sites that you visit frequently to see what is new. How do I subscribe to an RSS feed?
When you visit web sites, look for the orange feed logo or a link to the RSS feeds for that site. By clicking the right-most button on your mouse (Windows) or clicking with the Ctrl button pressed (Mac), a menu will pop-up. Select the "copy link to..." menu item. Then start up your news reader, select Subscribe, and paste the link into the URL text box. That's it!
