Job Opening

The Town of Ayer is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Tax Collector. The primary duties of the position are: Skilled secretarial, clerical and record keeping work in collection of all taxes, recording in the MUNIS system, and balancing daily receipts according to the state laws regarding real estate and motor vehicle excise taxes. Makes regular contacts with the general public, local businesses and other Town Departments requiring excellent customer service skills. Because we are both the Town Clerk and Tax Collector departments both assistants are required to do jobs for the other when necessary. Works on special projects; performs similar or related work as required or as situation dictates. The position is a full-time hourly position within a Union. The hourly rate is $20.27 plus benefits.
