Special Election ASRSD High School Athletic Field Project:  Saturday, October 6, 2018, 8am to 4pm

  • A special election has been called by the Ayer Shirley Regional School District requesting the authorization from both the Town of Ayer and the Town of Shirley to incur the debt to fund the ASRSD High School Athletic Field Project.  This special election will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 8am to 4pm in the Great Hall of the Ayer Town Hall, 1 Main Street, Ayer. 
  • There will be two separate ballots at this election.  The first ballot will be for the authorization to incur the debt to fund the ASRSD High School Athletic Field Project.  The second ballot will be for the authorization to borrow the money needed to pay the Town of Ayer’s portion of the debt for the project.  This second ballot is a debt exclusion.
  • This election will require voters on October 6th to do two separate check ins at the polling place (one for each ballot) and two separate check outs (one for each ballot).
  • If you are not already registered to vote in the Town of Ayer then the last day to register to vote for the October 6th Special Election will be Friday, September 14th.  The Town Clerk’s Office will be open from 8am to 8pm on September 14th to register to vote.
  • Absentee Ballots for the October 6th Special Election are available upon request from the Town Clerk’s Office as of September 12, 2018.
  • The ASRSD will be hosting a Public Information Forum for the field project on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 6pm at the ASRSD High School on 141 Washington Street, Ayer.  A walking tour of the existing fields will begin at 6pm with a presentation on the proposed field project including information about the tax impacts and the special election at 7pm in the LGI Room of the ASRSD High School.
