Ayer Conservation Fund

At the request of the CPC, with the support of the Conservation Commission and Open Space Committee, a Conservation Fund was created by Town Meeting vote in October 2017.  This Fund was created for the purpose of expediting the acquisition of land for conservation, open space, and/or passive recreation when opportunities for purchase arise.  Its use is overseen by the Conservation Commission, while the Town Treasurer serves as custodian of the funds.

$500,000 of CPA money was transferred into this Fund when it was initially created.  Since then, the Town has made modest additional contributions.  The Conservation Commission is actively exploring opportunities for use of this Fund to expand the Town’s valuable open space.
