Groton Shirley Road Water and Sewer Improvements

The Ayer Department of Public Works will be constructing water and sewer improvements on Groton Shirley Road beginning on Monday, November 16. This project will extend the existing water pipe from house #26 to the Hood Distribution driveway, which will complete a water loop and improve flow and water quality. The sewer will be installed from Groton School Road to house #26. The road will be repaved in the spring.
Work will begin on Monday, November 16th and will continue this fall as long as weather permits. Work will be completed in the spring. Additional construction notices will be distributed as the work progresses. We will notify residents if there are any interruptions of water service.
The road will be closed to through traffic during construction hours but will be open to the local residents and public safety vehicles. Detour will be on Groton School Road and Fitchburg Road.
