LED Streetlights

The Town of Ayer is beginning the conversion of the Town Streetlights to LED technology. This will take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to change the 510 streetlights in Town. The contractor is Dagle Electric Corp (DEC) and they will have two trucks working throughout Town. The lights will have “high tech” controls to allow us to monitor light status and dim the lights to save on electricity. The LED streetlight upgrade was funded by Green Community and Department of Energy Resources Grants. The LED lights are expected to reduce the electrical use and costs by 70%.
