Vacancies on Finance Committee and Planning Board

Finance Committee Vacancy (Deadline for Applications – September 28, 2018):

The Ayer Finance Committee currently has a vacancy.  This five member committee is appointed by the Town Moderator on recommendation by the Finance Committee.  The Finance Committee is an advisory committee which reviews and advises on the Town’s budget and other financial matters.  Applicants must be at least 18-years of age and a resident of Ayer.  Interested applicants should send a letter of intent and resume to the Town Manager, 1 Main Street, Ayer, MA 01432 or to tm@ayer.ma.us.  Applicants will be interviewed by the Finance Committee for recommendation of appointment by the Town Moderator.  

Planning Board Vacancy (Deadline for Applications – September 28, 2018):

The Ayer Planning Board currently has one vacancy.  The Planning Board proposes, reviews and hold hearing and makes recommendation on zoning changes; the subdivision regulations; review and sign approval not required (ANR) plans and review and act on site plan reviews/approvals.  The Planning board is alos responsible for developing a vision for the future growth of the community; reviewing/updating the Master Plan; and is involved with key land use, development, and planning policy.  This is typically an elected position but vacancies are filled by a joint appointment process by the Board of Selectmen and the Planning Board.  The succesful applicant’s appointment will be until the next Town Elecion in April 2019.  Applicants must be at least 18-years of age and a resident of Ayer.  Interested applicants should send a letter of intent and resume to the Town Manager, 1 Main Street, Ayer, MA 01432 or to tm@ayer.ma.us.  Applicants will be interviewed by a joint meeting of the Board of Selectmen and Planning Board and the successful applicant will be selected by a majority vote of the joint meeting of the Board of Selectmen and Planning Board.  The deadline for applications is Friday, September 28, 2018.
