The Town of Ayer Department of Public Works - Water Division is proud to present our 2019 Water Quality Report. This report provides an overview of the water quality that we supplied to the Town in 2019 and information on how we manage and protect our water resources.  In an effort to be more environmentally responsible, we are no longer printing and mailing reports. We have made it available on the Town Website and at Town Hall, the Library and the DPW office.  If you would like a copy mailed to you, call the DPW at 978-772-8240.  View the report here

Other Important Water Division Information
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Office of Research and Standards Guideline (ORSG) level for drinking water of 20 parts per trillion (0.020 ug/L) for a combination of six Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS). Ayer has tested our drinking water and PFAS is present in levels above the ORSG. For more information click here.

The DPW is continuing to install new water meters and Automatic Meter Reading devices.  Installation is based on meter routes and billing schedules.  When you receive a notification, please contact the DPW Office 978-772-8240 to schedule your appointment.
