The Town of Ayer, Massachusetts is requesting proposals for the acquisition and redevelopment of a most noteworthy and remarkable town-owned historic building - the (1934) Ayer Central Fire Station designed by nationally-recognized fire station architect George Ernest Robinson. Washington Street Drainage Improvements (CLOSED)

Sealed Bids for the General Contract will be received from General Contractors for construction of the Washington Street Drainage Improvements at the Ayer Department of Public Works Office, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA 01432 until 2:00 PM on Thursday February 16, 2017 and at that time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The work involves drainage improvements on Washington Street. The time for completion of this contract is 75 calendar days. The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M.  Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. Each General Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid.

Stormwater BMP Improvements

Sealed Bids for the General Contract will be received from General Contractors for construction of the Stormwater BMP Improvements at the Ayer Department of Public Works Office, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA 01432 until 2:00 PM on Thursday February 23, 2017 and at that time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The work involves water quality improvements including construction of a bioretention cell at Pirone Park and installation of a hydrodynamic separator on Oak Ridge Drive. Alternate construction of an underground infiltration system on Sandy Pond Road. The time for completion of this contract is 60 calendar days.

The Town of Ayer is accepting sealed bids for Furnish and Deliver Water Meters. Copies of the Invitation for Bid (IFB) package will be available beginning Monday January 9, 2017 at the Ayer Department of Public Works, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, Massachusetts 01432 between the hours of 7:30 A.M. – 3:30 P.M, or from the Town’s web site www.Ayer.ma.us and will be available until submission deadline. Sealed bids must be submitted no later than 2:00 PM, Wednesday January 25, 2017 to the Ayer Department of Public Works, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA 01432. LATE BIDS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Bids will be publicly opened after submission deadline. The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids as determined to be in the best interests of the Town and to waive minor informalities.

Aquatic Plant Management for Town Ponds (CLOSED)

The Town of Ayer, acting through its Conservation Commission, is seeking services from lake management consulting/contracting firms (hereafter known as the Consultant) for Aquatic Plant Management Projects at Sandy Pond, Pine Meadow Pond, and Flannagan Pond in spring/early summer of 2017.

Seven copies of the sealed technical (non-price) proposal, and one copy of the sealed price (cost) proposal, should be submitted to Ayer Conservation Commission c/o Office of the Board of Selectmen, Town Hall, One Main Street, Ayer, MA, 01432. Proposals must be received at the above location prior to 12 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Postmarks are not acceptable.

Solar Photovoltaic Projects At Town Owned Locations (CLOSED)
The Town of Ayer seeks proposals, pursuant to M.G.L. c. 30B, §16, Real Property Disposition, from solar energy developers (“Respondents”) to:

  1. Lease land at the Primary, Secondary and Additional locations, hereinafter referred to as “Locations”, identified below pursuant to a Lease Agreement a form of which is included in this RFP, and install, own, operate and maintain thereon a solar photovoltaic energy system(s) (“Solar Energy Systems” or “Systems”).
    • Primary location    Closed Town Landfill located at 100 Groton Harvard Road
    • Secondary location      Wastewater Treatment Plant Sludge Landfill and adjoining properties located at the end of Brook Street
    • Additional locations -­‐ Other Town-­‐owned open land as identified by the Respondent.

It is the desire of the Town to site Solar Energy Systems for the benefit of the Town and the environment. This Request for Proposals is being issued to allow the Town to evaluate options and determine the projects and financial arrangements that best meet the Town’s interest. The Town is interested in receiving proposals for the Primary and Secondary locations, and will consider proposals for additional locations as identified by the Respondent. The Town notes that it is not seeking proposals for solar energy generation or net metering.  Proposals must be received by October 19, 2016 at 1:00PM

The Town of Ayer DPW is seeking proposals for the "Pre-Engineered Garage at Grove Pond Water Treatment Plant" project.  Pursuant to M.G.L. c. 149, § 44E(4), the Town of Ayer Department of Public Works (DPW) requests proposals from qualified contractors for the design, prefabrication, site assembly/installation and all services required to complete and deliver one pre-engineered garage ready for use and occupancy. Qualified contractors must have Certificate of Eligibility for Pre-engineered Construction/Prefabrication or General Building Construction. All proposals are to be submitted no later than 1:00 PM on Thursday September 29, 2016 at the DPW Office located at 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA. Non-price proposals will be opened at that time. Every proposal must be in two parts, submitted in two separate, clearly marked, sealed envelopes: I) non-price proposal, and 2) price proposal, in accordance with all submission requirements set forth in the RFP.
