Animal Control

There is one on-call Animal Control Officer who handles all animal incidents and is responsible for enforcing animal control laws.  The Animal Control Officer may issue violations to pet owners based upon the conduct of the animals.

Announcements

The Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC) now has license plates available that benefit local Animal Control organizations. The initial cost of the new plate is $40, $28 of which will be used to help fund this statewide spay/neuter program. The remaining $12 is a one time only cost to cover the manufacturing of the plate. Upon renewal, the entire $40 will go to the program.

Funds received through this program will be dispersed annually through MAC to non-profit humane organizations and municipal animal control agencies in Massachusetts.

Contact the Massachusetts Animal Coalition for more information or go to the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles to obtain a new plate.
