Spectacle Pond Well No. 2 Replacement

Sealed Bids for the construction of the “Spectacle Pond Well No. 2 Replacement” will be received by the Department of Public Works, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA until 2:00 p.m. local time on December 16, 2016 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.  Sealed Bids must have outer envelope marked as “Spectacle Pond Well No. 2 Replacement.”

The work consists of installation and development of one 18”x24” gravel-packed well located on the existing Spectacle Pond Well Site, off of Sandas Point Road in Ayer, Massachusetts.  The project also includes performing a step-test and 48-hour pumping test, installation of a meter vault, piping, and electrical connection for the new well.  Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis.

All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.

Prospective bidders must complete a one-time registration process on the web site in order to receive log-in credentials.  Bidders must log in to the web site to download bidding documents for the project.  Bidders will be added to the “planholders” or prospective bidders list upon downloading the bidding documents for the project.  Bidding documents may also be examined at the office of Tighe & Bond, Inc., 446 Main Street, Worcester, Massachusetts between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, legal holidays excluded.

A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

This Contract contains price adjustments for diesel fuel and gasoline.  See Section 01270 for payment procedures and base prices for this Project.

Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project.  It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before Bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed Work under this Contract. 

Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids, or to accept any Bid which in their opinion, is in the public interest to do so.
