Spring Hydrant Flushing Begins Week of April 3, 2023

The Town of Ayer Department of Public Works - Water Division will begin our semi-annual Hydrant Flushing Program the week of April 3, 2023. 

The flushing will take place on weekdays between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.  During flushing you may experience reduced water pressure and some discoloration of your water.  The discoloration should subside within 24 hours.  If you are still experiencing problems after this 24 hour period, please call 978-772-8240.  

The Towns’ flushing program is considered mandatory maintenance and will be conducted as efficiently as possible. This maintenance program allows us to continue to provide the residents with water that is as aesthetically appealing as possible.
