Virtual: Contact dvanschalkwyk@ayer.ma.us for Zoom Info

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, Governor Baker issued an Emergency Order Temporarily Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law.  Public bodies otherwise governed by the OML are temporarily relieved from the requirement that meetings be held in public places, open and physically accessible to the public, so long as measures are taken to ensure public access to the bodies’ deliberations “through adequate, alternative means.”  This meeting will be broadcast live on Channel 8, and on Zoom.  The public may participate remotely by following the call-in information on the bottom of the live broadcast screen.)  For the Zoom meeting information relating to remote participation, please contact Town Engineer Dan Van Schalkwyk at dvanschalkwyk@ayer.ma.us or 978-772-8240.

The Town of Ayer is required to revise its Stormwater Bylaws to meet EPA/MassDEP’s 2016 Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit. The existing Stormwater Bylaws to be revised include Article 47 – NPDES Phase II Stormwater Bylaw and Article 48 – Illicit Discharges to the Municipal Storm Drain Systems.

The Ayer Department of Public Works is tasked with MS4 stewardship for the Town and has led a Workgroup consisting of member(s) of the Conservation Commission, Planning Board, Residents, and Consultant to guide the required revisions to Ayer’s Stormwater Bylaws.

Revisions to the Bylaws require Town Meeting approval and an Article will be submitted for Annual Town Meeting in April 2021.

Town Engineer, Dan Van Schalkwyk, will provide a brief presentation of the proposed revisions at the Public Informational Meeting.
