Public Input Meeting Sandy Pond Road Complete Streets Improvements

The Ayer Department of Public Works (DPW) will host a public input meeting to discuss proposed improvements to Sandy Pond Road on Wednesday, September 13th, at Ayer Town Hall from 6:00 – 7:30 PM. The meeting will be held in the Select Board meeting room on the first floor, and will include a presentation by the DPW, followed by questions and input from meeting attendees.
The DPW was awarded a $500,000 grant on August 7th, 2023 from MassDOT to construct complete streets improvements on Sandy Pond, in the limits of Snake Hill Road and Patriot Way (Phase 1 in the image below). Proposed work includes, (but is not limited to) new sidewalk, new curbing, ADA compliant street crossing, pavement improvements, new pavement markings, and drainage improvements.
The Town will seek future funding for similar improvements for the portion of Sandy Pond Road between Patriot Way and Westford Road (Phase 2 in the image below).
