For those not familiar, a community garden is a shared space where residents secure individual plots in which to grow plants of their choice. Resources such as water, tools, and others are shared, as well as responsibilities for maintaining the shared space. Community gardens have been of great benefit to cities and towns in Massachusetts and beyond. They provide families with affordable access to fresh food, offer enriching experiences for children to learn healthy habits, and foster pride in the community.
