Background Information:

The residents of Ayer at the 2020 special Fall Town meeting created an Ayer Affordable Housing Trust with monies from the Community Preservation Fund. The Housing Trust is a 7-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Ayer Select Board, with administration support from the Town’s Community and Economic Development Office.  The Board will meet no less than 4 times a year. As stated in the Trust Bylaw “The purpose of the Ayer Affordable Housing Trust (the “Trust”) is to provide for the creation and preservation of affordable housing in Ayer, for the benefit of low- and moderate-income households and for the funding of community housing, as defined in and in accordance with the provisions of MGL Chapter 44B.”  The Ayer Affordable Housing Committee will support the Ayer Affordable Housing Trust in the development of review of possible projects and programs.
