Sewer Main Rehabilitation (Night Work)

During the week of March 11th, The Ayer Department of Public Works (DPW) and its Contractor, Vortex Companies, will rehabilitate underground sewer mains at night, between the hours of 6PM and 6AM.  
No street excavation is required for this work.

The planned work schedule (subject to change) is as follows:

  • Monday (3/11) & Tuesday (3/12): West Main Street (Across from Fire Department)
  • Wednesday (3/13) & Thursday (3/14): Central Avenue at intersection of Sandy Pond Road

During Monday and Tuesday night, West Main Street is planned to be open to one lane of alternating traffic between Mechanic Street and Park Street, with uniformed police officers directing traffic.

During Wednesday and Thursday night, a partial detour is planned to be in place at the Central Ave / Sandy Pond Road intersection, with uniformed police officers directing traffic.
