Posted on: January 3, 2019 - 3:44pm
Trains will operate from Boston to Ayer. MassDOT and the MBTA are undertaking federally mandated Positive Train Control (PTC) infrastructure installation which will increase the safety of commuter rail customers and would like to advise the community of upcoming overnight test trains which will operate along the MBTA Fitchburg Commuter Rail Line. These overnight trains are necessary to test installed PTC systems along the tracks.
The attached notice highlights work for the MBTA Positive Train Control project. Beginning in January 2019 test trains will run as needed in the evening during non-service hours.
