Town Hall Phase 1 Reopening Plan for Town Hall Appointments Postponed from April 5 to April 12

Town of Ayer Public Notification:  Town Hall Phase 1 Reopening Plan for Town Hall Appointments Postponed from April 5 to April 12

The Town of Ayer originally planned to begin to offer in-person appointments in the Town Hall for municipal business starting April 5.  However due to two recent confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the Town Hall in less than a week, in addition to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health classifying Ayer as “RED/High Risk” as of April 1, the decision, out of an abundance of caution for the safety and health of all Town Hall Employees and the Public, has been made to postpone the in-person appointments in the Town Hall until April 12.

The Public is encouraged to continue to use the following remote and safe options to conduct municipal business:  use of the Town Hall drop boxes at the front and side of the Town Hall; use of the online payment system; mail; telephone; and email.  Additionally, the Town will be setting up an outside tent on the Columbia Street side of Town Hall for the purposes of conducting outside appointments.  This option will be available starting April 5 but will be by pre-scheduled appointment only and will follow all COVID-19 safety protocols (required masks; social distancing; appointments limited to 15 minutes; and a pre-screening questionnaire for contact tracing purposes).  For more information regarding this outdoor appointment service, please contact the Town Manager’s Office at 978-772-8220 x 100 or atm@ayer.ma.us

The Town is committed to a phased-in reopening plan that is designed to be safe for all Employees and the Public.  We greatly appreciated your continued support and understanding.  Please stay safe and stay healthy.  Thank you.
