Transfer Station Survey Results

The Board of Selectmen conducted a survey of residents for the feedback regarding the hours of the Ayer Transfer Station. The current transfer station hours are Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday 7am to 3pm. During the summer months, the hours move back one hour to 6am to 2pm. At the 2018 Annual Town Meeting, a Citizen’s Petition passed requesting the Transfer Station be open until 3pm.
Any changes to the hours at the Transfer Station requires agreement between the town and union. The purpose of this survey was to get feedback regarding the hours as collective bargaining begins for the union contract which expires June 30, 2019.
321 surveys were received in the two weeks it was available online and hard copy at various locations in town.
