WALK-PLAN TOUR – September 15, 2016 6pm-7pm

Our first two “WALK-PLAN” Tours (Main Street Downtown Ayer & Park Street Corridor) have received a most enthusiastic response and amazing participation from the People of Ayer!

Our next “WALK-PLAN” Tour might just be the best one yet;  “The Ayer Traditional Downtown Neighborhood Walking Tour”,

Ayer’s authentic, original, and gracefully compact urban residential street-grid neighborhood, including Washington Street, Cambridge Street, Williams Street, Columbia Street, and Nashua Street, contains a noteworthy collection of magnificent residential historic architectural types, such as Federalist, Greek-Revival, Second Empire French Mansard, Gothic-Revival, Queen-Anne, Gothic Stick, Arts & Crafts, Bungalow and more!

This remarkable historic residential neighborhood serves as a New England (street & building form) “Pattern Book” for traditional, sustainable, compact, walkable, livable, connective and socially engaged neighborhood design.

The Grand Finale of the Tour: Our Ayer Walking Tourists will be treated to a special visit and interior tour of the historic 1861 Federated Church of Ayer, which has been thoughtfully offered by Pastor Hannalore Nalesnik to our Tour-goers. We may even have an opportunity to pull the rope and ring the famous and legendary “1856 Plantation Bell” which hangs in the bell tower of Ayer’s Federated Church!

We look forward to joining with you (Ayer’s Citizen Planners) on the streets of Ayer’s Traditional Downtown Neighborhood on Thursday Evening, September 15th, 6:00PM-7:30PM.

Tourists meet at the Historic Ayer Central Fire Station Building on Washington Street at 6:00PM.

See you all in “The Traditional Neighborhood”
