Washington Street Paving and Sidewalks
Construction Update June 16

The Ayer DPW will be paving Washington Street from Highland Ave to Main Street beginning on Friday June 12th. The work includes new sidewalks, resetting existing granite curb where possible and new granite curb as required, and repaving the street.  

As of Tuesday June 16, the road pavement has been removed and most of the old sidewalks have been removed.

Final grading will be done on Wednesday June 17 with binder course pavement installed on Thursday June 18.

The following week we will begin installing the granite curbing, followed by new sidewalks and final paving. We expect completion before the 4th of July.

Seek alternative routes. Police details will be onsite to direct traffic.

During construction, there will be varying road conditions. Please travel with caution.
