IMPORTANT NOTICE
Washington Street Paving and Sidewalks
Beginning Friday June 12
The Ayer DPW will be paving Washington Street from Highland Ave to Main Street beginning on Friday June 12th. The work includes new sidewalks, resetting existing granite curb where possible and new granite curb as required, and repaving the street.
Sidewalks will be asphalt from Highland Ave to Cambridge Street and concrete from Cambridge Street to Main Street.
Work sequence will be:
- Remove existing sidewalks
- Remove existing pavement and regrade
- Install binder course pavement
- Install curbing
- Construct sidewalks and ramps
- Final paving and striping
The project is anticipated to take several weeks
Seek alternative routes. Police details will be onsite to direct traffic.
During construction, there will be varying road conditions. Please travel with caution.
