Washington Street Paving Project October 9 through October 22

The Ayer DPW will be repaving Washington Street between Highland Avenue and Nashua Street beginning on Tuesday, October 9th. The work includes regrading and repaving the road, installation of curbing and new sidewalks.

The pavement reclaiming and grading will begin this Tuesday and Wednesday and base layer paving on Thursday (weather permitting).

Curbing and sidewalk work will begin on October 15 and will last most of the week.

Assuming no weather delays, final paving is scheduled for Monday October 22.

The road will be closed to thru traffic during periods of construction, between the hours of 7 AM and 4 PM. Traffic will be detoured onto Pleasant Street at Washington Place and at Howard Street. There will be police officers on site to direct traffic and signs indicating the detour route. The roadway will be reopened at the end of each day, however there will be varying road conditions. Please travel with caution and seek alternate routes.
