Groton-Shirley Road Utility Improvements, Ayer, MA

 

  1. The Town of Ayer, MA, invites sealed bids for the Groton-Shirley Road Utility Improvements, Ayer, MA in accordance with the documents prepared by Environmental Partners Group, Inc. General Bids will be received until 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 1, 2020 .
  1. The Work under this Contract includes, but is not necessarily limited to, furnishing and installing within the Town of Ayer approximately 1,450 linear feet of 3-inch HDPE pressure sewer and services and manholes, 1,360 linear feet of 2-inch HDPE pressure sewer and services and manholes, and 2,600 linear feet of 8-inch DI water main and services; trench pavement; and and all appurtenances and incidental work necessary to complete the construction.
  1. All bids must be received at the office of the Department of Public Works, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA 01432, in a sealed envelope marked “Groton-Shirley Road Utility Improvements” prior to the opening of bids. Bids must be submitted no later than 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 1, 2020 to the Ayer DPW Drop Box located at the DPW Administrative building at 25 Brook Street at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Per the Governor’s declared state of emergency to support the Commonwealth’s response to the coronavirus, the bid opening will be closed to the public and live streamed.
  1. An electronic copy of the Contract Documents will be available at https://www.ayer.ma.us/bids. Hard copies of the Contract Documents will also be available at the Town of Ayer Department of Public Works, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA 01432, Telephone 978-772-8240 on/after Wednesday, September 16, 2020, between the hours of 7:30 am and 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. A deposit of $25 in cash or check, payable to Town of Ayer, will be required for each set of the Contract Documents. A refund of the deposit will be made only for Documents returned in good condition within 30 calendar days after the Bids are received.
  1. Construction must be complete 120 calendar days from and including issuance of a notice to proceed, and/or receipt of a fully executed contract. Work will be allowed until asphalt plants are closed, and a winter shut-down period will be granted if needed.
  1. The bidding and award of the Contract shall be in full compliance with Sections 39M inclusive of Chapter 30 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as last revised.
  1. Each bid shall also be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a certified treasurer's or cashier's check, bid bond, or cash in the amount of 5 percent of the value of the Bid.
  1. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be the best interest of the Town of Ayer.
