Dog Park - Friends of Ayer Dog Park Group

The Ayer Dog Park is a Town owned and operated park. However, the day to day upkeep of the park is the primary responsibility of the dog park users and the Friends of Ayer Dog Park.
The DPW is seeking volunteers to join the Friends of Ayer Dog Park Group. In general, the responsibilities of the Friends of Ayer Dog Park include:
- Welcome and educate new "dog parkers" on the benefits of dog parks.
- Politely explain the rules to users if you see any violations
- Keep the park clean by picking up waste, litter and debris (including the parking lot)
- Sweep the walkways and rake out uneven areas
- Monitor the poop bag stations and receptacles. Contact the Ayer DPW (978-772-8240) if poop bag / trash bags are needed or other maintenance issues arise
- Report and monitor conditions of the park and report to Ayer DPW
- Planning and fundraising for enhancements to the park (shade structure, lights, play structures)
