FY2020 WATER AND DRAIN IMPROVEMENTS

The Town of Ayer DPW is seeking bids for the "20DPW07- FY2020 Water and Drain
Improvements" project.

Sealed Bids for the General Contract will be received from General Contractors for construction
of the FY2020 Water and Drain Improvements at the Ayer Department of Public Works
Office, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA 01432 until Thursday February 20th, 2020 2:00 PM and
at that time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The work involves the installation of approximately 940 feet of 8-inch ductile iron (DI) water
main in High Street from Holmes Street to Winthrop Avenue. The work includes the
replacement of water main appurtenances, hydrant assemblies, house service connections, and
interconnections with other streets within the limits of work. The drainage work includes
replacement of drainage infrastructure and installation of new drainage infrastructure including
pipes, appurtenances and catch basins. The time for completion of this contract is 100 calendar
days.

The bidding and award of this Contract will be under the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30,
Section 39M. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders. 

Each General Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be
accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5 percent of the Bid.
