Sealed Bids for the construction of the “Spectacle Pond Transmission Main Replacement Project” will be received by the Ayer Department of Public Works Office, 25 Brook Street, Ayer, MA 01432 until 2:00 p.m. local time on September 14th, 2022 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.  Sealed Bids must have outer envelope marked as “Spectacle Pond Transmission Main Replacement Project”.

The work consists of the installation of approximately 750 linear feet of 18-inch high density polyethylene (HDPE) transmission main at the Spectacle Pond Water Treatment Plant (WTP). The work includes new water main appurtenances, reconnections to existing mains, and includes installing a portion of the main underneath a 48-inch culvert within the limits of work. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form.

All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.

A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.

This Contract contains price adjustments for diesel fuel and gasoline.  See Section 01270 for payment procedures and base prices for this Project.

Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of Department of Workforce Development under the provision of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project.
